Move beyond memorizing the protocol. Build the confidence, case conceptualization, and neuroscience-informed intuition to practice EMDR naturally through all eight phases.
Participants who have completed an EMDR Basic Training will receive 12 EMDRIA credits upon completion of the two-day FLOW workshop.
Therapists who have not completed an EMDR Basic Training are welcome to attend and will receive a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the workshop.
Designed for therapists who want to deepen their understanding of trauma through affective neuroscience, develop advanced case conceptualization skills, and learn how to integrate the FLOW Model throughout all eight phases of EMDR.

Register for the EMDR Refresher WorkshopFLOW is the capacity to move flexibly and with ease between affective states, allowing us to respond adaptively to what is happening in the present moment.
Our affective systems are designed to respond to changing internal and external conditions. When these systems can move fluidly, we are better able to access states associated with vitality, engagement, connection, exploration, creativity, and optimal performance.
Trauma can disrupt this natural flexibility. Affective states that were adaptive during threatening or overwhelming experiences—such as FEAR or despair—can become chronically dominant and influence how present-day experiences are perceived, interpreted, and responded to.
From a predictive-processing perspective, previous experiences also shape expectations about what is likely to happen next. Following trauma, these expectations may become strongly organized around previously learned patterns of threat or helplessness, even when current circumstances are different.
FLOW is about restoring adaptive affective flexibility so that past learning does not unnecessarily dominate present experience. The goal is not to eliminate FEAR, sadness, anger, or other affective states, but to restore the capacity to move between affective states according to what the present situation requires.
Greater affective flexibility allows present-moment information to more effectively inform perception, prediction, and adaptive responding, creating greater opportunities for connection, exploration, play, vitality, and flow states.

RCSW, EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant
I began my career implementing and researchingCognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with Aaron T. Beck and his team. From there, I became part of aDialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) team with Richard Hibbard, providing individual therapy and facilitating groups for clients with Borderline Personality Disorder. More recently, I have worked with Roy Kiessling's team training therapists in EMDR therapy.
Over the past 25 years, I have experienced therapy from many perspectives—as a client, clinician, researcher, clinical supervisor, consultant, and trainer. Like many therapists, I have learned different models and techniques, while continuing to ask: What actually creates meaningful change in therapy, and why?
The work of affective neuroscientist Jaak Panksepp and his understanding of our core affective circuits profoundly influenced how I began to answer that question. It gave me a way to understand emotion not simply as something to regulate or reduce, but as part of an organized system that can guide both trauma processing and healing.
The FLOW Model grew from bringing these ideas together with my experience in CBT, DBT, EMDR, neuroscience, and, most importantly, years of working with clients and therapists.
My passion now is helping therapists move beyond simply knowing what to do to understanding why they are doing it, what is happening in the moment, and how to help therapy flow more naturally. That is the experience and perspective I hope to share with you in these workshops.
This training is highly interactive and designed with practicing clinicians in mind. Rather than relying on lengthy lectures, concepts are integrated through demonstrations, case discussions, experiential exercises, and opportunities to immediately apply learning. My goal is to help therapists build the confidence to use EMDR naturally in their everyday clinical work.

Clinical supervision is available for Alberta social workers working toward obtaining Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) registration, as well as RCSWs seeking ongoing clinical supervision and professional development.
I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) and Approved Clinical Supervisor in Alberta. I have also volunteered on the clinical committee and am familiar with Alberta's clinical registration process and the expectations involved in developing advanced clinical social work practice.
My approach to supervision supports social workers in developing the clinical knowledge, judgment, competencies, and confidence required for advanced clinical practice.
For Alberta social workers who are also EMDR-trained therapists, clinical supervision can incorporate EMDR case consultation and the development of EMDR therapy skills.
As an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I can also provide consultation toward EMDRIA Certification, when applicable.
This creates an opportunity for EMDR-trained social workers to integrate their broader clinical development with their development as EMDR therapists. Clinical supervision and EMDRIA consultation will be documented according to the applicable requirements of each professional organization.
